The shop’s name, En Liège (An Liège), means “made of cork” in French. By offering products made from organic cork that are environmentally friendly and crafted with carefully selected materials, we hope to help you enjoy sustainable fashion.

Cork Bags and Wallets

Earth-friendly choices, made accessible. Close to you.

In recent years, circular manufacturing has become a trend in the fashion industry. Terms such as “sustainable” and “ethical consumption” are increasingly common, and more people are taking an interest in environmental protection. However, there are also those who feel distant from these new concepts, finding them “difficult to understand” or “complicated.”

At En Liège (An Liège), we aim to make sustainability and ethical consumption feel accessible by offering products that you want to use based on their design and functionality—products that also happen to be environmentally conscious.

Cork with Care

The cork we use is 100% Portuguese, representing the highest quality cork leather available. We use environmentally friendly materials and create products with consideration for labor conditions and consumers alike.

From design to material selection and throughout the manufacturing process, we consider everything and everyone affected by the creation of each product. We provide products that respect the global environment, labor conditions, and utilize sustainable materials.

En Liège creates products that align with the SDGs.

Consideration for Labor Conditions

When we commission product creation, we always visit the factory and speak directly with the artisans. Through direct conversation, we confirm that no one is subjected to harsh working conditions. For example, with bags, maintaining proper labor conditions while producing high-quality products means only about five items can be completed per day.

Currently, the manufacturer we work with for bag production does not create all parts in-house. Instead, several partner companies share the responsibility of creating bag components, and the completed parts are then assembled together. Each parts manufacturer is an independent company, and the artisans who actually create the components determine their own working hours and wages. We are told that any attempt at “subcontractor exploitation” would immediately result in refusal to do business. Therefore, employees are not subjected to harsh working conditions, and fair compensation is paid for their work.

En Liège (An Liège) products are not only kind to nature but also kind to the people who make them, ensuring ethical consumption is realized.

En Liège considers the labor conditions of everyone involved in product creation.
